Trip to Italy (11th academic year)
This school trip takes the students of the 11th academic year to the Golf of Naples in southern Italy, an impressive landscape near the volcano Vesuvius, where myths were born and cities that had been buried underneath lava were brought to life. The students are housed in the “Villaggio Costa Alta” high above the steep coast of Piano di Sorrento.
Daily excursions take the students to the Vesuvian crater, where they can enjoy a splendid panorama, to the excavations of Pompeji and Herculaneum, to the Phlegraean Fields with Sibyl’s Grotto and to the lovely, but hectic city of Naples. The group goes to the island of Capri by boat and on the way to the Villa Iovis they can enjoy blooming gardens and beautiful views. The school trip ends with a meditative walk around the three huge Greek temples at Paestum and a nice afternoon at the sandy beach.
Trip to Poland (11th academic year)
Our students from the 11th academic year can take part in a trip to Poland every year in July. On the nine-day tour from Poznań via Lodz and Krakow to Breslau, they will be confronted with the tragic chapters of German-Polish history, including a visit to the former concentration and extermination camp at Auschwitz. They also experience the liveliness and cultural diversity of the visited cities. With this extraordinary destination for a school trip, our students can get closer to our eastern neighbor, which also promotes the idea of the European unification.
Trip to Berlin (12th academic year)
Our students in the 12th academic year go on a three-day trip to Berlin at the end of January through the beginning of February every year. During the trip they not only learn about German politics, such as witnessing sessions of the Federal Assembly (Bundesrat) and the German Parliament (Bundestag), meeting with members of Parliament to learn about their daily routines or visiting ministries such as the finance ministry. They can experience the history of the city with a visit to the Berlin Hohenschoenhausen Memorial. This is the final trip for our students before taking their final exams.
